France opens up again to Mauritius

Tourism operators in Mauritius have breathed a sigh of relief this week. Indeed, Mauritius is no longer on France's scarlet list. It is now in the red list. The vaccinated people will be able to go there again whatever the reasons. With this decision of the Elysees, the reservations of tourists can resume. The December period is considered the high season for Mauritius and the French market is an important one for Mauritius.

Sanitary measures extended until January 15

Gatherings limited to 50 people, online courses or bars and clubs remain closed... The health measures in force in the country have been extended until January 15. The announcement was made at the end of the week by the Prime Minister, Pravind Jugnauth. Thus, gardens are still open and picnics are still forbidden on the beaches. Remote working is encouraged in both the public and private sectors. Individual outdoor sports are allowed for those who are vaccinated.

Covid-19: Booster dose craze

The situation related to Covid-19 is being critical on the island, residents are still heading more and more to get their booster jab. On December 1st, a little more than 100 000 had already been injected with the booster dose, as of yesterday, the total amounted to 132 350. As for the number of infected people, the country had 22,393 positive cases as of yesterday afternoon for the week. 20,691 patients had recovered.
