State pension in Mauritius

rajensee

I understand one has to live in Mauritius for 6 months and few odd days to receive the state pension. Does anyone know how many days in a year exactly?

I left Mauritius at a young age and am now retired in the Uk. i am eligible for the state pension in Mauritius and am planning to live there there 6 months in a year.

i love Mauritius particularly the North coastal areas such as Pereybere, Choisy and Troux Aux Biches.

Does anyone know exactly how many days in a year one has to stay in Mauritius to be resident for pension purposes?

Here is what it says on the letter I received informing me I am entitled to the pension:

"In the event you travel abroad and  your stay exceeds 6 months in any period of 12 consecutive months, you should promptly inform the Ministry of your date of departure and return. In case of absence from Mauritiusm a beneficiary is entitled to a maximun of six months' basic benefit in any period of 12 consecutive months, after which period the Ministry shall stop payment"

Also note that when applying, you have to show all your passports (Mauritian and foreign) and a photocopy of the last Mauritian entry stamp.

OK, I understand that if you travel abroad you have to be back in Mauritius before 6 months. Then is there any restrictions before you can travel abroad again?
