Cost of a Chiropractor and Dentist in Philippines?

fixfireleo

Not sure where I want to move to yet.  Was strongly looking at Bohol however I thought that they may not even have a chiropractor there and I need to go at least once per month for an adjustment.  Maybe Cebu, maybe Baguio, who knows.  Anyone know an average cost for an adjustment (manual) and also for a dental cleaning with X-Rays?  Thank you in advance.

The dentist I went to in Vigan cleaned my teeth and gums, filed down a tooth that was causing me pain, prescribed antibiotics for the infection caused by my tooth, and wrote the paperwork for me to go to the hospital for x-rays of my mouth.  Her total bill was 3,000 pesos.  Her bill included a cleaning of my wife's teeth.  I believe the x-rays were about 1,000 pesos.

OMG!  You have to be kidding me!  Is it evil to wish my dog a timely demise so I can move sooner rather than later?  lol

Can't help with Chiro's but had 2 crowns and teeth clean and was just under PHP 20K
Better half had 2 crowns, 7 small fillings and a teeth clean and was about PHP 21K. about 2 years ago.
Throat specialist in the Lorma Hospital in San Fernando City was PHP 400 for a consultation and yes he had all the gear and very professional.

Cheers, Steve.

wow.  I hope they have chiro in PH.  I have to go at least once a month and would hate to have to go all the way to Manila every time.

Hi,

Dr. James Parvis (American Chiropractor) in 2nd basement at Ayala Mall, Cebu City. He is good  and I use him myself. Say "hello" from me (Alf) if you visit him. He is not directly cheap, but worth the money, and half the price I would pay for a visit to a Chiropractor in Norway. He has been a Chiropractor for nearly 40 years.

I also visited Dr Parvis 4 years ago and agree he is very professional.  My bill back then equated to $45 US

Thank you.

Thank you!!  I was hoping it would be cheaper in the Philippines since I am use to paying a $20 co-pay in the USA.

Hi,

If you need 10 treatments or more over a period of time he offers a huge discount per treatment, I believe around PHP 1.200 each. However, you have to pay for the 10 sessions upfront, but it is up to you how often and what time you will take a session, and it can also be transferred to someone else of your choosing. Furthermore, the 10 sessions do not expire so it is a worthwhile deal since chiropractic treatment is typically about regular spinal corrections and very seldom just a "one time only" treatment.
At least that is the case for myself and some other friends of mine with back-pain problems.

Yes, that is much better.  When I use to work for the postal service I had to get an adjustment at LEAST once per week.  Now that I am not doing that job, I usually get one per month, so that would work out great for me.  Thank you.

My visit was a one time only during my first visit to the Philippines.  He treated me for sciatica pain and remember thinking his cost was 10 US more than my chiropractor in the States.  Great guy though and look forward to seeing him again.

Qualified chiropractors are very rare, in the Philippines.  Be very careful who you select, so that your spine is not unnecessarily damaged.  I highly reccommend Dr. John Keller at United Nations Chiropractic, in Angeles City.  I have been using his services for 4 years.  They also have clinics in the Manila area. The cost, for his services, is only slightly less than what you would pay in the United States. That is expensive, in the Philippines, but worth it for the quality of service.

In the Philippines you always have to be careful with whom you choose to help you with your health problems. I always seek a 2nd opinion from a different physician before I choose to go ahead with any treatment.

As to medicine prescribed I always check it on the internet before putting it in my mouth. In my 29 years here in this country I have seen pharmacies handing out the wrong medicine a few times to me as well as to my loved ones.

As to Dr. James Parvis, he is a 3rd generation American chiropractor from Montana, US, and has been residing in the Philippines for 18 years. He is a graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in US so I deem him to match professionally anyone else who is practicing chiropractics in the Philippines.

Good advice.  I get my medicine from the Veterans Administration.  I will be having them mailed over by UPS.  You can rent a box with them and they will mail your stuff to you.  Do you know what average mail times are from USA to Philippines?  They told me 7-10 days.  Is that right?  I was expecting 30-45 days based on stuff I buy from China on eBay.

Hello everyone,

Please note that it would be better if you share contact details through the private messaging system. We don't know whether this professional would appreciate the fact that his contact details are posted openly on internet.

If you are sure that he wouldn't mind, i suggest that you recommend the professional in the business directory so that members who need his contact details in the future might find them easily : Philippines business directory

Thank you,
