Working pass clarification

Hi everyone. My friend is applying for a job. This one company said can offer a workpass but asking her to pay the Cargo pass and airport pass. I do not think this is legit. The company of said recruiter is SAA cargo.I believe if company wants to hire you they should not be asking any amount of money . Did anyone have idea about it?

@azaleamitch0108 The company cannot ask for a payment for the work pass - that is illegal under Singapore law.

But what you mention are access cards needed to do the job. For that, the employment contract should specify who pays what. But these are only needed AFTER the work pass is issued, so it's a separate topic!
