I'm glad it's finally over

In my summary of my ten year experience In Nicaragua I would have the say the country is very expensive and poor value.

Investment rating 0/100 start, would not recommend.

My general synopsis of the Nicaraguan people are they are both friendly and unfriendly, but never your friend.

Gday Syco,

just about to message you again and the above post pops up.

After having lived in a 2/3rds world country i get what you say.

Having said that 10 yrs was an arduous length of time considering what you said, i think?

The one thing i would mention is what few if many others mention...ie that it's expensive.

Is that a result of their use of USD?

I am still planning to visit early May.

What is a good SIM for data.  Is there a good SIM for both data and calls (mainly local i supose)

Cheers,

nijol

PS interested to learn if you made new friends amongst the expats?

Most expats are *** at least the ones I met.  I was trying to sort out this land mess and those with property won't help you and will isolate to not get any negative attention.

My first night in Granada I was walking with a local a d he introduced me to an expat, this is so and so, he has alot of money, and the expat said to me I had to treat the locals like kids.  The first expats I met spoke very poorly of the locals so I mainly hung out with locals until I am now one of those expats I first met.

I knew four expats.  One was a crackhead and he died earlier this year it was coming to light his 501c3 was a symptom of his crack induced psychosis.  The other didn't have the best moral compass.  He died, the day before Trump took office.  The other one is renting my house that I abandoned because the neighbors were increasingly petty.  They would steal your water and sell you a drink.

Claro and Tigo are your sim choices.  I use Tigo.  Using the relevant app to recharge is best.

It's cheap if you don't want quality.  Once you hit quality there is a surcharge.  Best to keep to yourself.  People get clingy and dependant so you will keep paying unless you like being alone.  The peace is nice.  My bike does 133kph.
