Enzyte Bob

I received this email today. Orders over $49 may qualify for free shipping.

Things you must do when ordering.

(1) Set delivery address to Philippines.

(2) Qualified items by Amazon will display "Free Shipping To Philippines" by item price.

(3) Review your Shopping Cart to see if your order qualifies for Free Shipping.

(4) If your order qualifies, "Free Amazon Global Shipping" will be pre-selected at checkout.

*

In the past I have joined Amazon on a free trial basis, but you must cancel before the trial is over.

**

(A)How Fast? Estimated time will be provided at checkout and varies depending on item availability & delivery address.

(B) If you have non qualified items in your basket, you will be charged for shipping.

(C) Amazon will estimate custom duties, taxes, & import fees during checkout and custom clearance.

(D) Excess fees will be refunded.

Awesome information, thanks for posting. I still have a US Amazon account, and will try order something I have in mind, see if it arrives on our little island.

That would be really great. I wonder if it is limited to Amazon Prime members.

I gave up my Amazon Prime membership ($15/mo) despite all the benefits, when Bezos bought Whole Foods and started giving the store discounts to Prime members only. I didn't like that concept at all. Safeway and my local grocery chain don't require me to pay for a membership to get their discounts so that's where I shop now.

One other thing to mention is there seem to be a lot of fakes and counterfeit products being sold on Amazon now, just like with Lazada and some of the other Asian sites. About a year ago I bought a set of $40 Shimano bicycle pedal cleats of all things, that wore out really quickly, and when I investigated, I confirmed they were counterfeit, not Shimano. Hard to believe.

I'm sure most transactions will be fine, but "buyer beware" as always.

@Enzyte Bob Good news. I'm still a prime member and I've ordered a few things from Amazon since I've been in the Philippines. The shipping cost was reasonable but free is better. The last thing I ordered was the air conditioner belt for my multicab and it took 11 days to arrive. The same belt cost over $20 to ship from Japan and never even arrived since they used PhlPost. Amazon charged less than $12 and it was delivered to my door by a LBC courier.

You can sign up for a temporary Prime and receive the benefits, just remember to cancel after the shipment and before the trial ends.

I only purchases I make on Amazon are from Amazon itself not from any outside sellers on Amazon.

That's the way to do it. They have become inundated with small sellers, mostly in China, and there is no oversight or vetting.

So just received my first order with Amazon's new free shipping. Arrived in 6 days, total fees at check out came to $9 on a few hundred in clothing. All in all, I was happy with the service, and many items that I had decided to go without due to lack of availability here are on the list for free shipping so I am sure I will have many more orders to follow.

I usually make sure I'm under 10k pesos so I don't get charged duties. Free shipping will make that easier.

In the past receiving items shipped by my mail forwarder/remailer by FedEx, I had to declare the price of each item, staying below P10,000 total.

Your post got me thinking, since I never had to show proof of the purchase price, why bother to be truthful?

Congratulations and thank you on being our Beta Tester.

My wife likes NatureWell  Coconut Oil (Moisturizing Cream). So I added Men's Boxers and T-Shirts to the order. Upon checkout the Moisturizing Cream was not available for free shipping . . . Yikes $26.

So no order today for Amazon.

Is the free shipping over $49 only for Prime members?

I still had a few days left on my Prime account, and ordered two Foval branded 220v-110v adapters. Don't like the Samsung ones I bought beforecoming. Ordered Nov 28th. Expected arrival date Dec 12th. Arrived Dec 7th.

Free shipping and no sales tax, no duties.
