Possible Move to Riyadh

Post new topic

JC Thomson

Hey Guys,

Nice to meet you all.

There is a possibility that I might have to relocate to Riyadh next year and might have to work in or around Al Mursalat area. I currently reside with my wife and two adopted desert dogs in Dubai. I have a few questions and am hoping I could get some answers.

  1. Which is the most closest, reasonable and dog friendly compound closest to Al Mursalat?
  2. Would anyone happen to know an owner directly renting a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment? If no, then if anyone would know an agent
  3. What would be the rent for a 1 or 2 bedroom villa? Would I need to put down a security deposit?
  4. Are there raw food options available for dogs?
  5. Do compounds have vet clinics?
  6. Do compounds have dog boarding and day care facilities?
  7. Any vegan/vegetarian restaurants in or around the compounds?
  8. Is it easy for a vegan/vegetarian to live in Riyadh?

Thanks in advance,

JT

I don't know much about dog friendly compounds as never had to ask about that but from my experience, most compounds are not dog friendly.  The big ones like Al Hamra Oasis Village or Bustan might allow them. Also Al Nakhla is dog friendly and has a dog park (around 20 minutes from your area by car).   The closest compound to you which is semi decent is Arabian Homes but I don't know if it is dog friendly or not.  Manage your expectations about on site vets or boarding / day-care as it's generally rare. These are available outside the compounds in commercial districts around Riyadh.

There are no owners renting individual units. Compounds have a single owner and usually, his management or real estate company handles this process. Don't waste money on agents. Just call the compounds directly or better yet, come down and visit in person. The pictures on websites are misleading at times.

There are lots of vegetarian options in Riyadh. I can't tell you which options are near compounds as their are literally dozens of compounds out there and a lot will depend on which one you will choose.

The rents, again, will vary, depending on the compound you choose. If you want villas, the smallest is likely to be 2 bedroom.......mostly 3 beds.  But keep a range of 70-100K in your mind. And yes, you will have to put down a security deposit......usually around 1-2 months of rent.

Hello sir @Tang.  Do you happen to know anything about compound for women? I've heard that there's one in Riyadh. I would really like their number.  I tried googling but I got nothing.

Thank you inadvance!
