Hi Jacnton.

No, sorry to say that they are not.

Ed Howard Williams

Were there ever three month tourist visas? I seem to remember that my three month visas were based on some sort of business idea however spurious.

If your friends are all expats wanting to remain in Vietnam easily, most likely you are right.

I could be wrong, but I remember that people could get both 3-month tourist visas and 3-month business visas when I was in Vietnam on various occasions starting in 2004.

Hi All.

Yes there were Three month tourist Visa’s

prior Covid, hence the reason I am asking if it has been recovered.

Usually there are reciprocal agreements between countries on visa rules.  They say "You place restrictions on us, then we'll do you the same".  However, the US rules in the case of Vietnam are much more restrictive because so many Vietnamese want to emigrate to the US and it is not too difficult to turn a visa  overstay into a green card.  The US government doesn't want that to happen.  Vietnam, on the other hand, needs immigrants, but they don't want to get pushed around.  Not likely to change anytime soon.

However the US allows one year tourist visas to Vietnamese, even if they are overly selective about who gets one.  This reciprocity is part of why Vietnam used to allow US citizens a one year tourist visa.

The easiest way to turn a US tourist visa into permanent residency or green card is marriage.   The reverse is still available to US citizens in Vietnam.

True, but is 30 days enough time to line up a suitable single mom friend? 1f914.svg

“Disclaimers: vietnamvisa.govt.vn is e-commercial/non-government website“

So yes, if you were thinking it is an official government website, it's not and if you think from viewing it that you can get anything you want through it then it's also not able to do that.

It can help provide you anything you are legally qualified to get, but I don't know anyone here that endorses that site including the government of Vietnam

danrodri

Well, I mean because they offer 3 month multiple entry. But it seems that that doesn't even exist currently

Many, many of the Visa agent websites have not updated their data since before covid.

I talked to at least one agent who doesn't really care to update it and figures that if the information that's on there attracts a customer, then they can deal with it when the person actually makes a request.

If you want to give it a try with them, more power to you, although it wouldn't surprise me if they are the ones that ask you to pay up front and then have nothing for you on the back end.

You could really waste a lot of time on the internet searching around for a website that offers what you're looking for, or, some of us on here will recommend trustworthy Visa agents who will only attempt to sell you what's currently legal.

Up to you how you want to invest your time (and maybe your money)

Hi there JohnnyChristo, and welcome to expat.com.

I'm not sure whether you are asking for the official eVisa application site, but if so, see the link in the first line of this post,

"A Step-By-Step Guide to completing the current Vietnam eVisa online application".

Feel free to ask further questions, contribute to an existing thread, or post a new topic. Lots of helpful folk here.

Again, welcome to expat.com

Your link has been approved by administration.

No, that is not the official eVisa site. See here for a recent post regarding such sites.

No. That's the website we talked about earlier in the thread that is a commercial website, tricking people into thinking it is a government website with its URL.

This is the only official government immigration portal for obtaining a legal Evisa:

-@paj1ney

Nobody knows when we will know.

We will only know for sure on the day that the approval document is issued by the government with a red stamp.
