Mail Service

Post new topic

Dave & Ruby

Does anyone have a problem with the mail service in the Philippines? Ruby and I mailed a mothers day card to her mom in the province on March 22, 2023, and she still has not received it. So I'm guessing for us to receive any mail in a timely manner we should consider a virtual mailbox such as Traveling Mailbox. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated before our move to the Philippines.

I use Traveling Mailbox and I like the service. It’s $12 a month and they can even deposit checks.

Dave and Ruby, my experience with Philpost is don't. We have a letter box here and that's for the monthly electricity bill and the meter reader prints it out and sticks it in the box. We told Cignal tv not to send paper invoices when we first got that 4 years ago and they send us digital,,,,,, 3 times since we have tried to get them to stop sending paper and still they send, interestingly Philpost deliver those bills every 3 months yes 3 bills and one time 4 months.

99% of my mail in Australia is digital and things like credit cards my sis gets and tells me the numbers, rarely used as most stuff here is cash.

Many Expats use the service types you mention with no problem and they are happy.

BTW welcome to the forum.

Cheers, Steve.

The only problem is the price of FedEx is expensive.

I recently had four letters sent by FedEx $88.71

Two years ago the price was $53.55

It would have cost almost $100 to send that Mother's Day Card by FedEx.

There are plenty of virtual/digital sites to send Christmas/birthday cards online, that only helps if the recipient is connected to the net but works well for us and friends.

Your right Bob, I sent 3 A4 pages from PH to Australia some 12 years ago with a courier recommended but can't remember the name and that was around AU 50 bucks by air, it did work but never done it since.

Cheers, Steve.

Then I'm saying to the infamous Lotus Eater:

Lotus Eater has a Mother-in Law,

She come and stay

For days & days with dread

And poor Lotus Eater sometimes which he was dead.

Not to do with mail service but on your Idea Bob I have a couple of books. "101 uses for a dead cat" another 101 uses for a dead Pope" perhaps MIL's are next?

Cheers, Steve.

@Dave & Ruby My brother in Australia sent me a letter. At the time of posting he was informed that it would take three weeks to arrive. Three weeks later we received a call from PhilPost that the letter was ready to be collected. Produced ID and collected the letter.
