Change of Employer

Post new topic

n2missilen

Hi guys,

During the renewal of work permit, my company laid me off.

After that, I got blue paper and a new job, but the system doesn't accept the new application as the other application is still ongoing.

My official last day will come in few days in the meantime. The new residence card is not issued yet.

When can I start the application to change the employer?

As I have never come across such situation, your advices will be a great help.

Thank you.

Hi.  If you already have a new employer, I strongly suggest to start the application now.  Whilst he is compiling the application he will find 3 options:

Current Employment Situation:

1) Still in employment with current employer and no termination request has yet been submitted

2)Termination acknowledged by Jobsplus

Please keep in mind that if you were terminated your previous employer is obliged to send termination form to jobsplus within 4 days fromthe date of termination - In accordance with article 40 of Chapter 594 – Employment Training Services Act,.

3) Previous employer refuses to submit the termination letter to Jobsplus

If the previous employer refuses to submit the termination letter a Declaration letter addressed to Identity Malta Agency must be provided explaining the employment case (employment conditions, payments and duration of employment). Termination Declaration letter to be attached with the application.

If you or your employer need assistance with this do not hesitate to pm me.

Hi @hc1728

Thank you for your swift reply and consideration. I

The problem is that the system doesn't accept the new application.

I guess my the system will accept the application, once ID Malta receives the termination letter?

In that case, I should collect all papers and submit it within 10 working days, is my understanding correct?

And would you think I can already start colleting documents, like FS3?

Thanks

Naomi

Geetings to all,

I have a concern and would like to have suggestions

I did a change of employer on September 2023  and got my blue paper on November 2023 and engaged in jobsplus as well.

till today I have not received my id card and my application is still under third party process and I am facing some management issues in my current company and wish to change my job (which I got already) is it possible to change job while having blue paper ?

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of a situation where I need clarification. I highly appreciate it in advance if someone who has had a similar experience could tell me about how it went.

I lost my job and got a termination letter in early January 2024, soon after I left the Island and returned on a 90-day visa. Before the end of my visa, I got a new job and the company applied for a change in employer at identita. I have been waiting for two weeks now and still did not receive an update. Do you think everything is in the order given that 1. they applied for a change in employer after 3 months of my termination, not 10 days as it was officially stated back in 2023, and 2. it has been two weeks now and there's no update yet?

If anyone has had a very similar experience, I would be very grateful to you, to just let me know what happened with your application.

Kind regards,

Limesh KR

Geetings to all,

My daughter is currently working part time with the employer as a student, who has applied for full time for her and the process is ongoing. He is currently on a 3-month probationary contract. It is the first working application.

Another company contacted and is very interested in her and they want to hire her and offer her better working conditions and a higher salary. . Can another company apply as a change of employer or will it have to wait to get a work permit and only then change employer, which is not in its favor because the other company  needs to find a worker urgently.

Thanks in advance

Regards Ina
