Permitted family visa option

I am an Irish born citizen living in Australia with my New Zealand born husband we have four Australian born children.  My brother-in-law who is a New Zealand citizen has lived in our home with our family for the last four years.  He is not a dependent.  Has always worked while living with us contributing towards the rent and bills.

We are in the process of moving back to Ireland have purchased a house, we would like my brother-in-law to come with us.

I am wondering if the permitted family category "Any relative who is part of your household that is not a qualifying family member" would apply to my brother in law.

I can't find much information about this category or which visa's would apply and the process of applying.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I've just read the relevant section of the Irish Government's Citizens Information website (); I think your brother would qualify as a "Permitted family member"; you can phone them and ask, the contact details are on the top of the page I have linked to above.

I hope this helps.
