Legal advice

Hi,

I live with my wife near Aarhus and when her father died, we bought the house from the estate. However although the money was from the sale of our UK property (jointly owned), the deed of the DK house is in her name only. Obviously we want both of us on the deed, but as we got married in UK, its not so simple.

We want to have sorted before the new government valuations come into play in January. Has anyone been in a similar situation and know the cheapest simplest way to change the deed. Is it to get married in DK or is it the case of paying for a solicitor to change the deed. If the latter, is there anyone or a firm that is recommended by this group?

Thanks in advance

Noel

Hi Noel,

You're married, e.g. you cannot marry again unless your present marriage is dissolved.

Married in England, you only have to go to your local citizen service with your marriage certificate and have it registered.
