Anyone use PayPal in Cambodia?

I would like to transfer PayPal money from my foreign PayPal account to a Cambodian PayPal account, and then withdraw that money to a Cambodian bank.

Anyone doing this?

Are the fees and rules crazy here for PayPal?

Based on my experience, PayPal is country specific. I originally used PayPal in Thailand and it was linked to my bank account there. When I moved to Vietnam and wanted to link to my account there, I had to close my Thailand PayPal account and open a new one based in Vietnam. This was easy to do and my balance was retained.

Contact PayPal's customer service and they can explain the details. However, I'm not sure if PayPal accounts are available in Cambodia.

PayPal also has Xoom for international transfers but I have not had the need to use it. You should look into what services they offer. I have read online that it is possible to send yourself money this way, but you'd need to confirm if this info is accurate with regard to Cambodia.

@jayrozzetti23 just a warning note on Xoom. I use it regularly from my US bank. When you do an international fund transfer on Xoom, the names must match exactly. For example, on US Passports the name is listed as first middle last or whatever order. On Xoom, there is only space for first and last. My last attempt failed on Xoom because of the middle name thing. I just send the money here to Alin usually but she was sick so I wanted to save her from the exercise of going. I failed. Had to cancel the transaction.  Most of the time now Alin just goes to a Wing store and can get the money there.

You can also use Western Union and it will integrate itself with your banking account if you wish. There are others too like remitly and wise. I have used Western Union and the cautionary note is to be sure to use the exact name as it appears on your passport.

I have an ABA account here which is handy for things as well. Pretty much do not use US debit cards any longer.
