Traveling to home country with expired visa

Post new topic

I have to travel to my home country while waiting for my first permesso di soggiorno. My visa has also expired. Is it possible to travel. I am finding mixed reviews as some say I cannot travel without first permesso. The travel with receipt is valid for the renewal receipt.

Please let me know the exact rule.
