Post new topic

Armand

Hi all,

What do you think about the means of transportation in Toulouse ?

Is the network of means of transportation well developed?
What modes of transport are available?

Do you use them?

How much is a fare?

Are they relatively safe?

What is the mean of transportation you use the most in Toulouse?

Thanks in advance for participating!

the network is great !
bus metro tramway and train are available.
lean 66 of bus drive you form the airport to the downtown and metro.
The metro are totaly safe, a big glass wall protect you from rail
its so easy to cross the city
ticket is expensive if you buy One Way (1.5 €}
10 travels cost 12.5€
if you are under 26, the pastel card is the best solution, indeed one month cost 10€ ;)

There's still a lot of room for improvements!

Is the network of means of transportation well developed?
Not yet.
No metro (After midnight) over weekend is pretty sad!
And regular bus hours stop working at 21:00 which is very early.
I hope they will at least, run metro all night long over the weekend (friday, sat, sunday) and extend regular bus hours to Midnight + continue with Soiree bus from midnight until dawn.
This will encourage the young people to leave their cars at home and take public transportation instead and hopefully this will decrease amount of car accidents (or bike accidents) in France.
At the moment I am hearing from people I know they take Velo Toulouse to go home over weekend even though they are no longer sober, and that's pretty concerning! I am pretty sure no one would want to choose to go home by taxi in Toulouse as the price is just ridiculous.

If they increase access to public transportation, it will motivate people to use cars less and less everyday. Traffic jam is a real issue in Toulouse. But I am reading articles that they are working on the transportation project in Toulouse as they know it's lacking and fingers crossed this will be realized soon.

What modes of transport are available?
Metro, Bus, Velo Toulouse, Tram.

Do you use them?
Metro and Bus only.

How much is a fare?
I take 10 tickets card for EUR 12.50

Are they relatively safe?
Yes

What is the mean of transportation you use the most in Toulouse?
Metro and Bus.

totally agree with cattls here :) especially the weekend part!

but metro fare for students or anyone under 25 paying 10 euros a month is JUST exceptionally cheap i guess (in my experience after living in different countries)
