New in Mumbai, looking for contacts

Post new topic

Trine

Hi
I am a Danish woman of 33 years.
I have moved to Mumbai 1 month ago and is finding my feet in this amazing country of new smells, sounds and tastes.
I am working for a textile agency, arranging production for different European fashion brands.
I have worked different places in the world, but this is my first time in the east.
I would love to hook up with some other foreigners living in Mumbai (I actually live in Thane, just outside Mumbai) to share impressions and thoughts.
I blog on
Happy Easter

Welcome on board Trine!

I move the discussion to the Mumbai forum (by the way, I should remember to change the name of the forum, as it is still Bombay)...

Did you move for professional reasons?

The india expat network might help you to make contacts and friends near you ;)

All the best,

Julien

Hi Julien,
Thank you :-) Havent quit figured the site out yet, so thanks for moving my comment to the right place.
I moved because of my job. My company has set up new office here, so I am here to help it get started.
Thank you for a site that allows us travelers to get in touch!
Have a great weekend.

hi trine,

i am basically from Bombay but currently staying in Bahrain.
As you are staying in Thane its really out of main Bombay. If you go around the place like Bandra,Santacruze,Andheri(Juhu), Marine drive is very happening place and specially if you stay there.

Best of luck,
Enjoy the very fast moving life in Bombay.

Hi Trine,

I am originally from Bombay but moved to Finland a year and a half back. I still visit Bbay every month for 2 weeks or so as my hubby has again got posted here.

We are currently living in Hiranandani Complex in Powai which is quite close to Thane, though not just 5 mins away.....

Well i am in Bbay till Wed, next week so maybe we can catch up the next time I am back here.

Usually, there are a lot of expat gatherings that happen in Bbay, though most I must admit are in the South side of the city or in Bandra.
Does your company provide u with a car and driver, if they do then it wont be so bad to get there for these gatherings at least on weekends.

Which is why we are also looking to relocate to the SOuth side, as that is where I grew up and most of the exoats are there too, so my hubby would prefer living there being one himself.
