End of Contract/ Iqama Transfer/ Final Exit Visa

Fatymabeyg

so my husband finishes his contract on 9th April 2024 however his Iqama expires on 14th June 2024. His company is insisting on selling his car so that they can give us an exit visa. My husband explained to them that he has an interview on 15th of May and wants a grace period till 31st May to be able to sit for the interview and transfer his Iqama if successful. If not we will sell our car and they can give us a final exit visa right after 31st May. The company has declined the request and given us 10 days to sell the car starting from 9th May.

  1. My question is if we delay selling our car or can’t find a buyer will it have any serious implications such as Huroob.
  2. If my husband is able to secure this job can the final exit visa be cancelled and Iqama transferred to the new company?

The GRO from my husbands company is very pushy and told us we only have two days to go until that contract finishes. He also offered to buy or help my husband sell his car but he gave us a really low price. He doesn’t reply to emails or messages unless it’s about the car.

@Fatymabeyg firstly, no one can force you to sell your car and you should not sell if you want to stay.  secondly, is your husband on company provided visa? If your husband locally transferred on this company then he should just get job offer through Qiwa,  accept it and wait for system to auto transfer him to new employer.

I understand that but if the company has given us 10 days to sell the car for a final exit visa in writing, what can we do? Plus the GRO is using scare tactics and reminding us again and again that we have very little time left that we should sell the car to him for what ever little he is willing to pay. He wouldnt reply to official emails but he can find the time to message my husband on whats app at midnight asking for more photos and details using scare tactics.

Yes! my husband is on a company provided Iqama, he was on a contract for 2 years that he has completed

The issue is visa is company provided. They will have control but if you made non-renewal request online on Qiwa then you can continue to go to other company through Qiwa online. Qiwa says, if you have spent more than one year with current sponsor then you don’t need this current employer’s permission to change company / employer. I think your husband should attend the interview get the offer online and accept through Qiwa.

Thankyou Saad!

Alternatively if we are not able to sell the car in 10 days or delayed due to the holiday period and out of the 10 day grace period window what do you think will happen?

Saad_2008

Nothing will happen. They will have no choice but to keep insisting you to sell which is your right to decide when. They just want their visa back which they can only get by giving exit. Think about it, if they had authority / right to give you exit with the car still on your name,  would they even care to do the effort to scare and ask you to sell as much as they did. Keep the car, you already have iqama till june. Get new offer asap.
