Hello everyone,

Expatriation in South Korea presents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture. Let's explore the local cultural scene together through the eyes of expats: practical advice, essential institutions, and different opportunities.

What cultural offerings are available in South Korea and how can we access them? Where can we find information?

Which cultural or community institutions are essential, and what activities do they offer?

What are the best ways to discover the local culture and actively participate in it?

What are the available prices and subscriptions to access cultural events in South Korea?

Feel free to share your experiences and advice to fully enjoy the cultural scene in South Korea.

Thank you for your contribution.

The National Museum in Seoul has a fantastic collection, and spending an entire day there soaking it all in is easy.

When I first moved to South Korea, exploring the local culture alone was a bit overwhelming. On one of my first days here, I also hired a local guide to help me learn about the culture and the story behind every famous destination. I found hiring the guide to be extremely worth it

My guide provided so much valuable context and insight. He helped me feel more comfortable navigating famous sites and everyday cultural experiences.

Also, when I'm not busy, I like wandering neighborhood streets on weekends. You'll always find something interesting happening, like taekwondo demos, traditional dances or craft markets.
