BUYING VERSUS RENTING IN CAP CANA

Post new topic

LiveLife4U

I have been looking to buy an apartment in Cap Cana.  I have been researching, visiting for weeks at a time for the last 3 years and stayed in several areas of Cap Cana to narrow down where I want to purchase.  I eventually would like to live in Cap Cana part time, months at a clip.  I’m from the United States and have a home there as well.  I have decided that I want to live in the Aquamarina, Punta Palmera and Fishing Lodge area of Cap Cana due to the amenities of local restaurants, beaches and pools.  My budget is between $250,000 to $350,000 as I still plan to maintain a home in the United States.  I also have seen that I can rent places between $1600 and $3000 a month.  Am I better off renting for the months that I’m here to avoid issues of finding someone to manage my place, paying for maintenance when not in use as well as all the other factors of ownership?  I welcome any advice from those who actually lived it.  Thank you

You are better off renting especially if not during peak season December - April appx.

We always recommend renting first, longer term before buying. If less than 6 months a year it will make sense to rent. Far.less headaches
