Though, in the few weeks since the election, one does note the outgoing junta is doing all it can to mire the States in World War Three Lite by intensifying the conflict in the Ukraine.

I don't believe it will pause much. In my humble opinion, it will simply change the way they do it.

You, again in my opinion, are right about Biden's war in Ukraine, but I believe Trump will alienate much of the world, and that's very likely to put expats at a degree of risk.

His latest threat of tariffs against any country that doesn't use the Dollar leaves few options - countries can return to the Dollar, this the very unstable leader that is threatening them, or give China a hug and a kiss.

Added - Most of Asia is very deeply with China in massive financial deals, and they are very likely to see China as the best bet.

That leaves the possibility that US expats all over Asia will be unwelcome.

I recall Bush's wars. I spent some time in Malaysia and the first question I was always asked was if I was an American. Their tone softened once they realised I was not.

It's very possible Trump could cause US expats in China, and Asia in general, a lot of problems.
