TRC entry and exit stamps the norm or not?

Post new topic

Looking at my passport, I see that I did not get VN exit or entry stamps when I went to Cambodia (Moc Bai) and came back a few years ago. I exited and entered using my TRC. Is this the normal procedure or should I have received VN exit and entry stamps? Appreciate any answers.

A Temporary Resident Card is technically a category TT Visa Exemption, and it may be that a passport stamp isn't required as long as your TRC is valid

You're not the first person who's reported not having their passport stamped when entering on a TRC.

The only problem I can see is that some government and bank forms ask for your most recent entry date into Vietnam.

If that happens it's probably best to use the date of the most recent "Được phép tạm trú đến/permission to remain“ stamp in your passport.

If it really bothers you I'd recommend visiting the local immigration office and double checking with them.

Good Luck 🤞
