Does anyone actually use the new name of Turkiye?

Daft as brushes (ye olde English saying).

BTW, if you want to know about stool - look up the .   Hours of entertainment in that.  And I don't mean just going through the motions.

I was feeling a bit flush with the verbiage roughage that day.

I'll have a bit of a rant.

It's back to the old days pre-Internet.  All we need is a sing-song around the piano, dominoes, Monopoly and maybe we can all do the crossword.

Some people need get more engagement with themselves to make up some topics of interest to them and others.  Did everyone lose their imagination or interest in life?  Or is it just being spoon fed topics via click bait and getting wound up from having no critical thinking skills.  Come on people, we can do better.

US election is in our faces today so there's always that to discuss.

Rant over!

Dead? It's never dead here, there are posts EVERY DAY. Maybe not new threads, but there are not new things to create.

Not much to discuss about the US election this morning, except WTF just happened there.

I think everyone is stunned.   I'm trying to see the upside.

While the US is all about personal economy, my own concerns are what's going on next door and if it's coming here.

Possibly there's no way  he can carry out radical nonsense as political institutions move slowly everywhere and there will be resistance from at least 1/2 the population who didn't vote for him.

I heard a caller comment on LBC.

"If it comes down to it, I will always vote for the candidate who is not a rapist (and fraudster)"

Weird that's even something people have to think about.

I suspect Mr O'Brian will not be a happy chap this morning.

To add; C&P from elsewhere on the Internet:

"Meanwhile, on LBC James O'Brexit is having the mother of all Trump tantrums."

I've removed the derogatory comments.

I'm listening to him now and it's not really so much news but he's spent a bit of time on it.

Trump won't get his hands on the tiller until Jan 2025, so we'll see what he comes up with.  His pre-election plans and rhetoric are just appalling.  He might be blocked but it's not looking good for many - women, LGBT, foreign policy etc. Whatever it is, it's not going to be helpful for Ukraine.  Having worked there and being next door I am fearful for them.  Since Putin's invasion, I'm quite concerns about doing any travel further East in the "-stans".

More immediately interesting - perhaps - is newly elected Kemi Badenoch vs Kier Starmer at PMQs.  She's a PITA and about as loopy as they come.  We'll see what she does.  At least she's not in power.  She's speaking now but the way I see it now is that's she's as naïve, obvious and simplistic as I expected.

Ok, I am going to sound brutal here, but can we stop these pointless spare of the moment threads?

If anyone has a meaningful post, then start one. NOT just because they are either bored, pissed.

We have a post for Anything else. Please use it.
