Question about the VISA and e-residence permit

Post new topic

Hideaki Sugihara

Hi, I’m currently acquired single-entry D VISA for the study purpose as TCN, and now I’m applying for e-residence permit. Then I have a quick question. I have a plan to go to the U.K. in next December. Is that possible to temporary leave the country and go back without completing application, in other words, without receiving physical card? My VISA is in valid duration after the trip.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum. As a Japanese citizen you do not need a visa for the UK. Therefore you can travel without your Maltese residence card for students. However, when you come back the Maltese authorities may ask you about your residence status in Malta. For this reason keep a copy of your residence application. This will be evidence enough to show you are going to study in Malta.

Thank you for your reply. I will get contact on airport police for making sure. This is my first time to get out from Jp, so I'm quite unfamiliar with these sorts of trouble.

Of course you are right prevention is better than cure. You can also contact one of the immigration lawyers over here.

When it comes to simple legal questions they may not even charge you when they know you are a student.

Just have a look at the business directory above and see which lawyer suits you best by location.
