Residence Permit PIN/PUK waiting time

Post new topic

Hi all,

I was approved for a visa D to study in Belgium, I registered with the municipality in Antwerp and applied for my residence card, I paid the 21€ and received my annex 15. However, although 3 weeks have passed, I did not receive my PIN/PUK code letter.

Should I be worried? Has anyone experienced such a delay?

Hi,

Yes, it's worth following up because typically, the PIN/PUK code letter is delivered within 1 to 2 weeks after registering. However, delays can happen, as I’ve experienced something similar. In my case, the letter was mistakenly delivered to a neighbor’s mailbox by the postal service. I had to go back to the municipality to request new codes, but eventually, my neighbor brought me the original letter.

I recommend checking with your neighbors and contacting the municipality to request a new set of PIN/PUK codes if necessary. It’s better to address this sooner rather than later to avoid delays in activating your residence card.

Hi,

To update I indeed followed up with the municipality and it was lost in post. I requested next one directly to municipality and received it soon.
