Sterling from ATM's

Post new topic

Caesarea

How do Brits access their UK bank accounts to withdraw funds or pensions? Can we use the card in an ATM to obtain sterling and then exchange it in a Cambio to get a better rate?

Or can we only obtain local currency, Euro's or Dollars?

TIA

When needed get cash out of an ATM or use cards. Sure you loose a bit in charges but the cost of stuff here soon ofsets that. As for rates, the difference it makes is too small to worry about if you are just thinking of day to day expenses

Easiest way I found was just to withdraw the local currency. If you have a no fee card. Then the local cost was about £2.50, to withdraw a maximum of £150.

Pay by card no fees. But it's more a cash economy(good thing)

Thanks for the info. Which is the best no fee card to get for Paraguay. Dont have any atm but heard the more different access we can have to our uk funds the better.

Thx x

Monzo has no fees. And HSBC global money. The fees from the Paraguay ATM can't be avoided however.

Free ATM withdrawals

If Monzo's your main bank account, make unlimited fee-free withdrawals in the European Economic Area (EEA), and up to £200 every 30 days anywhere else. After that, we'll charge 3%.
