Person on non-German EU dependent visa applying for German visit visa

4th.magi

Hi,

This is a query about the spouse of the person mentioned in my other thread on this forum.

Can a person currently resident in one of the other Schengen member-states on a dependant visa apply for a German visit visa while resident in the Schengen Zone? Their dependent visa will be expiring soon.

If yes, would the 90-days-in-180-days rule include time spent in their current residence in the Schengen Zone on a dependent visa?

If I understand your post correctly, there is a person living in one Schengen country (with a national residence permit) and wants to visit Germany. That is possible within the Schengen rules (up to 90 days), no additional visa required.

After the residence permit expires, the person would need to apply for a visa (if one is needed for his/her nationality).
