How much does it cost to hire a driver in HCMC?聽 What about Vung Tau?聽 What kind of car do drivers typically have?

Despite Budget-Reatacar's advertising you cannot rent a car less driver in VietNam.

You can rent a taxi - one of the pirates - ad you make a deal. IF you go out of town YOU are expected to pay for meals AND (cheap) hotel accommodation for the driver.

There is a pirate, with a modern vehicle, who lives at 73 Hai Ba Trung (a small VN convenience store next to the hotel at 71.

You will find lots of pirate taxis around the Ben Thanh Market - they are the ones with magnetic door signs (think fridge stickers) that peel off.

You rent them by the day + so much per kilometre.
