Possible move to Tripoli.. any advise?

I have just started correspondence with a local oil and gas service supplier in Libya for a position as a business development manager.
I have over fifteen years experience in my area of expertise and have a technical, as well as MBA qualification.
In my working career my wife and I have lived and worked mostly in Europe, with a five year stint in Nigeria.

Would like to get some inside information on Tripoli Libya, such as:
What salary range should I look at?
What is the personal taxation situation?
Accommodation/Utilities/medical/Air tickets paid by company.
No car.. Based on your driving conditions, what model car should I look at and approx cost. Second hand 1-2 years old.
Safe to drive or a local driver recommended? Cost of a driver?
What is the average monthly cost of living expensesÂ…Food/social life etc..?  Know this is what length is a piece of string? story but if I get a few numbers that would be helpful.
Where would you suggest that we find housing?  Preference is exapt/local mixed community. Office is along Suani Road Tripol
To make life livable, my wife and I likes to get out and socialize, play bridge, go to gym (wife ;-), go out to eat, me . Can we do most, or all in Tripoli without having to take out a second mortgage?
Any supermarket  shopping facilities?
Any other advice?
Appreciate any help, Thanks

Hi Patrick

I think it would be worth your while reading through all of the discussions and then posting up any other questions you have as most of what you have asked has already been covered.
