Making Way to Bergen, Norway

Post new topic

Vann

Just to quickly introduce myself: my name is Virginia and my husband, Ivar, and I will be relocating to Norway the first week of May.  After a quick stop outside of Oslo to meet my in-laws we'll be making our way to Bergen in late May via train.  (I've read the train ride from Oslo to Bergen is supposed to be absolutely beautiful.)

We're expecting our first child, a daughter, in late June/early July so I'm desperately trying to get a grasp on the Norwegian language.  (Can't have a toddler that speaks it better than her mother, after all!)

Really looking forward the the experience and challenges!

Christine

Hi Virginia,

Welcome to ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ! :)

Thank you for your introduction. Congratulations! :)

I wish you good luck in your project.

Congratulations and good luck!

I was fortunate to do that train trip from Oslo to Bergen now in Dec 2011. It was magnificent. I loved every bit of it.

When you get to Bergen and have a spare room to let out for 3 months, please let me know. I will arrive end of May for 3 months on business/vacation. Or if you know of anyone...

Many thanks

Hi, I moved to Bergen when pregnant 3 years ago, I started going to norwegian language school before our daughter was born, then took a break and went back when she was about 4 months old. She is now at barnehage and although I have passed my Norwegian exams, we are probably about the same level with the language! She is two and a half!

It is a lot of fun learning the language with your child tho.

Best of luck with the move! :)
