Cost of appliances?

Hey Guys

I am currently planning to go back to addis to visit the family. I was planning on doing some renovation to the family house back in addis but i'm not too sure on how much money to prepare since the economy keeps increasing rapidly. I was wondering how much an average Sofa, fridge, and Washing machine would cost. Also how much is it to install dish tv. I would really appreciate it if you guys could inform me on it since my ticket is set for next month.

an average Sofa would cost u around 8,000 Birr
middum fridge costs u around 5,000 birr
12 kilogram Washing machine would cost u around 8,000 birr
to install dish tv it will cost you around 2,500 birr excluding TV cost ...

Prices will be very similar to what you would pay in Canada - if anything a little less. There are now plenty of good quality shops to buy appliances - you can get most international makes - a plenty of cheaper Chinese models.
