Mall access for single expat men

Can anybody tell me if it is ok for a lone expat to go to the malls on a Friday, I have read that many will only allow women, after all we need to shop to feed ourselves as well

You can go to a 'free standing' food store any time.聽 Also, I've heard聽 that western expat men are rarely stopped from entering malls on family days.
