Family reunion with single working visa

Post new topic

Hello all,

I'm planning to move to Rio soon with the same company I'm working now. I started the process for a single status visa but I'm willing to get married before my depature to Brazil. Does anyone know how can I get a visa for my future wife so we could be together there?

Thanks in advance.

James

Hello Juan,

Your situation is actually a bit complicated for a layperson to answer. I doubt that you will find anyone in the Brazil Forum more informed on the subject of visas than I am and this is something even I can't answer with certainty. Maybe if you're lucky one of our members has been in the situation and can offer some helpful information.

Your best course of action is to enter in contact with the Consulado-Geral do Brasil em Mexico if your girlfriend is Mexican and get the answer straight from them. You can find out more information and how to contact them by following the hyperlink below.

If she is Saudi Arabian then you will need to contact the Embaixada do Brasil em Riade.

Hi,

I am working in Brazil, and I try to get the same Visa for my Russian Girl-friend.
Despite all support of my Cpy, she cannot get it through my Visa, because we need an official marriage. This is the condition of the brazilian consulate in France ( for me) and the same in Russia. They give few information by phone, and not more by mail. My Cpy has used the services of agency to get this poor information.

Hope you are married with valid document, and she could get it, in her residence country. Your cpy has just to sent the request in her residencial consulate, based on your woking visa.

For my case, i tried as mentionned in different brazilian consulate , to demonstrate a common life for over 1 year, it's not enough.

A family reunion visa is issued for legally married couples or those that can provide documentary evidence that a Common Law relationship has existed for at least one year. This would include property purchased or rental contracts in both names, joint bank accounts, insurance policies, a foreign country Certificate of Stable Union, and notarized statements of witnesses that a relationship "equivalant to marriage" has existed for at least one year, etc.
