Where in Belo Horizonte should I rent an apartment?

Hi everybody

I will be expatriate to Brazil to Belo Horizonte in February.
I would like to know where should I be looking to rent an apartment.
I was browsing the renting sites and they all suggest Luordes neighbourhood. what do you think about it?
any advice?

Obviously, the closer to the city center you live the more convenient it will be. However, as someone who lived in Belo Horizonte for several years that can come at a price other than just the higher rents. If you don't mind taking extra precautions then go for it.

Lourdes is good. Other areas you might also want to consider are Santo Agostinho, Prado, Funcion谩rios, Sagrada Fam铆lia and if you want to be where the "in crowd" hangs out then Savassi would be right up your alley.

Hey Christian,

We have a room for rent in Buritis which is 15 mins on the bus from Savassi. 500 reais a month plus 40-50 for bills.

you have sky, internet, house phone, own balcony and own bathroom plus use of the rest of the apartment. we also have a free parking space.
