Telephone service in Cancun

Post new topic

bennybtexas

I'm moving to Cancun in 2 weeks and would like some phone advice.
I need to keep my current cell phone number from the US for work. I need to be able to communicate back to and from the US as well as Mexico. What do you guys do down there? Do you get a separate Mexican cell? I am not a techi and know nothing about communicating through skype or through the computer, so I feel more comfortable with cell phone service.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Get a Skype number in the US and forward your US cellphone to that number. Get Skype for your computer and forward that to your Mexican cellphone. Remember to keep your US cellphone active.

there are a lot of great options,   We use axtel and pay about 65 dollars a month which covers internet and unlimited calls to the usa.   There is also telmex which is similar pricing but not as consistent in service in my opinion.

Obviously you can use skype which is free.
