Love is in many shapes, you can not only feel love for a person but for things or subjects as well: music, art,nculture, history, a good cup coffee or tea etc.

Love is a feeling, emotion so you can not lent it or take it back, it will die when this emotion is not cherished.

And how to give back the love? And how do you keep someone's love when the person is already gone? I don't get this sorry.

Love is not ours to have, we can't take it, we can't borrow it or buy or sell it. You can't give it back if you don't want it anymore, so best think about it before you ever accept it.

Therefore, once given it no longer is ours so we can't take it back either.

Anyway,I agree with "letting him go" part- when its not worth to keep him then DO IT. I just don't think love we gave or received is returnable and so with the time,the memories and if he is not an A* then you can love him till you die but if he is, just mentally kill him on your head unless we are playing a roll in love movie.

i am agree love is emotion and will die when it not cherish ... but mostly love between women and man attach with ego so when u give love u want them give back the same things ... different case with mother who love her children she will like giving and not ask back or love like what u say to culture , art etc

Love can never be given or borrowed, it can never be taken by force nor asked by please. A special feeling to someone you cared, respected and accepting everything in his/her life. Love can never be taught, it's like a seed it grow in perfect time and in prefect place........

when someone loves, he or she should love unconditionally expecting nothing in return. because when you expect something, then it may not be Love.

The hurt you feal is because you gave your heart, freely and without conditions attached. When we love, sometimes we love somebody who doesn't appreciate that love or give love the same value that we do and in the end they break our heart because we loved the wrong person.

Some people, sad to say, carry that scar and the pain forever. They are the ones who live through other people. They feel they only exist because of the one they love. They have no self image and little self-esteem. It's sad because everyone has great value and each of us is unique.

There are others, hopefully you will be one of the, that hurt for a while and then they bounce back. They find their self image and self esteem again and they realize that THEY ARE WORTHY OF BEING LOVED. They pass through the pain and go on to love again and be loved.

The difference between the two types is that the second type sees the break-up and pain as a learning process that creates personal growth. The first type sees it as a curse or punishment that they must have somehow deserved. They don't realize they are wrong.
