Hi Melanie...

The simplest way is that you two get married! :P

Otherwise, he will have to come here under one of these three schemes:

* investor
* professional
* self-employed

To know more about it, just visit the Board of Investment portal.

what we must do when we marry for him to come to mauritius? what is the procedure  then?

Kaviraj G

Your boyfriend will have to come to Mauritius on a tourist visa (eligible for stay for 6 months). After your wedding, he will then have to go to the civil status office to register for a resident permit as a spouse of a Mauritian national. However, the process can get quite complicated and immigration laws are in constant evolution. Therefore, I suggest that you speak to a marriage lawyer or to a civil servant dealing in immigration issues.

MJKelder

Woowww, it's getting complicated,so what are exactly the papers he needs to get married in Mauritius ?

Kaviraj G

Well, the usual stuff...birth certificate, passport, proof of sufficient funds, and a paper called a 'marriage visa' I think based on what others have posted regarding marriage issues on ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ.

However, for a better understanding, you need to consult someone well versed in the field of immigration.

MJKelder

Where can I find someone please ?

Melanie - the simplest way would be you go to Civil Status Office in Port Louis. Tell them you want to get married to a foreigner from the netherlands. They will provide you with a written list of all the papers he needs to bring and all the papers you need to provide.

Once you're married you will still have lots of running - but's getting more relaxed. You will have to provide documents to the Immigration Office, but with your marriage certificate it will be no really a big problem.
