And I also want to make friend with everybody from another countries to know more about their culture and their tradition because I really love travelling and exploring.
So it will be nice if I can make friend with you guys, and if you want, I can teach you Vietnamese and we can talk about our country cultures and maybe you can also teach me your language haha :))
Anybody interesting can contact me via email: gemchan4@gmail.com

Why do you have to change your name for other easy to pronounce it ? 。。 let me tell you this little story, when I was in ESL class, my teacher whose is from Russia, and of course they name is very difficult to pronounce it ... The first day he teach  us how to pronounce his name and ask us to teach him how to pronounce  our name ..some of students in our class change they name (like you) for foreigner easy to said it .. He explain to us "In respect,  the other (who ever they are..) need to learn how to said your name in properly when they meet you, want to be your friend or be with you,  like you have to learn  how to said they name....you need respect yourself, your name (which is from your lovely parents whose give its to you) your country by teach other how to said your name in properly..." ... " if you want to talk to me please learn how to pronounce my name correctly" .. That exactly how he said it... So my recommend to you "show your respect by teach other said your name correctly" ... You don't need to chage your name for anyone easy to said it ...unless you don't like your real name and want to change in difference reason...

Kakaaaa :P my two cents opinion ...

I like your comment. You do not need to change your name unless you think it is not meaningful and don't like it.

Is Daisy your real name.

Haha why so serious? Just because Pi is my nickname, my relative, my family and all me friend call me Pi. Dont you have a nickname that your family gives it for you? I just feel so comfortable and familiar when I'm called Pi. Of course I love my real name, my real name is beautiful and meaningful but I want to make friend with you guys so it doesn't matter when friends call each other by nickname, right? :)

Why is so serious .. ;) because what you wrote

but I know its kinda hard to pronounce for foreigner so you guys can just call me Pi

That the reason why I try to let everyone know that you don't have to change for other people to easy pronounce your name.  Everyone can have nick name or even want another name or what so ever but do for other reason than just for foreigner to pronounce it ... My story is just a good lesson that I learn from my teacher whose want to show us how to respect other by learn how to pronounce correctly the name of the person you speak with   ...

Yes, Daisy is a nick name that friends give it to me because I very in love with he daisy flowers ... I used to have these flower all over my room while I'm In college.   But I don't used that name just because for the other easy said it  ;).....That is my point ...

Again, just my two cents opinion ...

Seems to me to be a bit hypocritical

Welcome to the forum Pi.

Do you pronounce Pi like 'Pie' or 'Pee'? I'm a bit worried for you there.

I'm not sure if Vietnamese locals are aware that there is an English equivalent to every Vietnamese name for English speakers. It is not expected of foreigners to pronounce it like proper Vietnamese at all.

Usually the symbols aren't taken into account and it would sound different but it is commonly accepted in Australia and I think other foreign countries too.

For instance my name will turn into the sounding word 'Tao' and that's how I introduce myself to English speakers.

I almost tried to change my name like so many others that have, but then it would just feel too weird to me and so I have grown to not mind it at all.

Ngoc tends to turn into Knock. Not sure if Vietnamese locals would like the equivalent but that's another option ;).

I dont change for other people to easy pronounce my name :) I register to this forum in my nickname Pichan, I think It's better when I speak out my realname but I love to hear when everyone call me Pi, You should know if I dont love my nickname, I'll never let another people call it, and when I said my name is kinda hard to pronounce, I just mean well. I don't know why you are overreacting like this but thank you :)  I''ll put this down to experience for the next time :)
