I am wondering what are the formalities for Canadians to obtain a long term stay status in Spain? We have no Spanish consulate in Vancouver here unfortunately.

I think you have to go through the consulate in Toronto for that info. I was trying to inquire about a program for residency for investors but the staff there was completely unhelpful in providing me the parameters for the program. I gave up trying to get more information. If you find out more please post your findings, and I will do the same, once my aggravation subsides to a level where I once again try to deal with the consulate.
