My boyfriend and I will be moving to Porto on August as he will be doing his internahip in Matosinhos. I personally suggested Portugal because I believe the cost of living there won't be a rip off for both of us. I need to know how i can find a place to rent (before leaving to Porto), the best place to rent and the reasonable price for a one bedroom apartment and what's the sufficient cost of living (on food, entertainment etc) per month?

Hi dhlfz,
Portugal is not an expensive country (although everything is getting more and more expensive). It's also a safety country/region.
Of course it depends on your budget and if you intent to go out every evening, but it's easy to "save" money if you don't eat out everyday.
About finding a place to rent, I suggest flatinporto.net where you can find flats with "all services included" considering you'll stay one year.
Good luck, you will like it for sure!
