Post new topic

Hi There , I am a project manager in Egypt & I've got an offer from a multinational company working in Electrical Switchgears manufacturing . I received an offer with 7000 RM .I was planning to move to Malaysia with my wife , 2 kids (2 & 4 years) . So I just need to know :

1- Is this salary range sufficient for me and my family.
2- Is this salary range is normal for a project manager is the manufacturing industry?
3-What is the min salary limit that i should start to negotiate from.

Thanks
Mohamed

I would say the salary is quite tight with two children, one of whom will need private education shortly. At least RM15-25k per annum is needed for schooling per child. However, relocating is not always just about work and income.

Kelly produce a guide to salary levels.  You can find it by going to and it is at the bottom left hand side of the homepage.

The salary ranges for engineering and technical start at page 44. You will be able to recognise your potential job content from the descriptions.

If you look at another thread on this blog, it has some useful calculations.

I agree with above. 7k would be impossible with kids and many single people couldn't live on that either. Also for any kind of project management job way too low
