Now we are in E.U. do we have to pay an import tax if we bring a LHD car into croatia, and get it taxed etc here

I read somewhere that you can only import cars under 7 years old but the whole area of importing vehicles sounds to be total chaos! I have a right hand drive LDV Convoy van which I would like to use in Croatia. I don't know how it will work if I'm not allowed to import it.
