is there a place for indian muslims to live freely.

Post new topic

syedkamran84

Hi All,

What I am going to say is as per my thought and experience in life. Some ppl might not agree with it.
I was born and brought in India but I never felt that I belong to India bcoz I was always being told by many ppl that since u r muslim u should live in pakistan and not India. Maybe bcoz India is a predominantly hindu country. But even pakistanis don't want me to live there bcoz they say since I was born in india I should live in india only.
I thought of moving to gulf country hoping that I could live freely away from all this and practice my religion peacefully. But the problem here is that we never get a citizenship so there is always a fear of going back to india.

So I was thinking is there any muslim country in the world where I can practice my religion peacefully get citizenship and live a happy life??
:(:(:(

Fred

Indonesia has quite a few Indians and loads of Muslims.
I'm unsure how you'd get in long term.
Perhaps some special skill?

syedkamran84

But does it have good job opportunities?

beppi

People with racially or religiously discriminating ideas exist everywhere, but thankfully they are always a minority.
Besides hearing stupid comments and feeling to "not belong to them", you did not mention any actual disadvantages you had, so the key to living free from interference by such narrowminded folks is probably just ignoring their grudges and concentrating on your own happiness instead.
Believe me, wherever else you go you will be (and will always remain) a foreigner, only in India you are not! (And in my personal observation, India's society is more open and tolerant than most other places.)

syedkamran84

I have personally faced any problems which I don't feel comfortable to share here, but honestly it's actually majority only minority ppl are neutral and since I was a child I have always heard ppl call me a Pakistani just bcoz I am muslim inspire of being born in india.
I will tell you how bad it is, listen, elections are going to be held soon for Prime Minister post and all ppl r going to vote for a person who really hates Muslims and in his own state where he is chief minister he made a plot to kill over thousands of Muslims and he got away with it.
He openly says that all Indian Muslims dont deserve to live in Indian, also he said many bad things, he was from a political party which supported idea of killing ppl based on their religion. His party openly praised hitler for killing Jews .
And now whole of india are going to vote him as next PM why bcoz majority have same opinion that Muslims don't deserve to live in india.
I can't keep beard and fear to dress as Muslim. The police might just catch me and lock me up for some stupid reason.
Recently there were riots in UP state of india where many many Muslims where slaughtered.

Trust me its really bad situation and I fear after this bad guy becomes new PM I fear Indian situation would be similar to what is happening in Syria right now....

Hi there,  :)
You are young and perplexed by the situation and by what other people do and say.
I lived under oppressive communist regime for 38 years.  You do not know what that means, and you are not 38 years of age yet.

You complain about being afraid of growing a beard in Muslim tradition and that some sect kills other sect(s).
Well, killing will increase in the world for obvious reasons. You as an accountant dealing with numbers and you should get a hint on why killing will only increase.
You have to realistic if you are to succeed.  If you are to fail, you will always look at life with wishful thinking.

You are supposed to show to your town, to your state and to India that you love the country where you were born, that you can make yourself useful to your country and that you can rise above everything that bothers you to love and help people with your work.
It may cost you your life, and anybody else who will try to oppose angry mobs will face the same fate.
If you are going to say that what I said is easier said than done when you read it, then you are lost ...
When I was sad in my country from 1952 to 1990, I did not even had a place like this forum to vent my frustration: I fought communism to extinction in many ways risking my life, together with many other people of good faith.
You have problems now, I had problems then, and lots of other people will have problems too ...
It just never stops.  :(

±á¾±,Ìý :)
Thank you for engaging me in conversation.

Yes, USA is not a Muslim country, but - as the melting pot it is - USA is the country where Muslims live together with many other citizens of many religions, and where everybody has a chance to make it big if he is good.
Computers, Internet, yahoo.com, google.com, youtube.com, facebook.com, iPad, iPods come from people of different religious beliefs who live in USA.

You do not have to distinguish yourself only as a Muslim, unless you want to become a Muslim priest, but you must try to be a successful businessman like those businessmen who already succeeded beyond their wildest dreams for the benefit of all concerned.
If you are good, you will; if not, ...  :/

I am sorry, but I cannot continue this discussion because there is not much I could add to what I have said and because this forum is outside the scope of religions and related issues.
Thank you for challenging me.

stumpy

Have you considered Malaysia.
You have reasonable qualifications which may get you work there.
Or any of the middle east countries.

You may not be able to get citizenship in any of these countries but if you are working there and coming out for annual leave you do not have to go home to India for your break. You could go to another Muslim country for leave.

Make the break from India.

That is all I have to offer and it is up to you to think long and hard about what you want to do with your life.

Give us time and it will be. :D

More seriously, Indonesia does offer chances and, as our friend Stumpy mentioned, Malaysia is a wonderful place.
The hardest part is finding legal work, hence the need for special skills.

syedkamran84

Thank you but I am already living in middle east, Dubai, UAE.
I am looking for a country where I can get citizenship so that I don't have to go back to India ever.

syedkamran84

Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion,

Thank you too.  :)

1). As the world's oldest and biggest democracy, India is a great country and it becomes a super power because the former super powers self-destructed making room for the laggards of yesteryear to step up to the plate.

2). Where to go, where to settle and what to do is best to be discussed with the ones who love you most, parents and close family.
Talking to strangers, including on the Net, rarely does produce something good fast.

3). In life, sometimes, one wins big if he does the very things he dislikes because doing what one hates increases the chances of success by one.  Most people who do only what they like never have that extra chance, and this is why doing what one likes inevitably changes into something one does not like.

Good luck.

If you want citizenship then you should look into the United States, Canada, Britain (in areas where the BNP is not popular), Netherlands (excluding Geert Wilders' district), Germany, South Africa, Australia, Philippines.  If you want strictly Muslim countries then you will likely have to abandon the idea of citizenship.

Off topic remark: India might be the world's biggest democracy (and a great country), but at merely 66 years old, it is by far not the oldest - that honor goes to Iceland or San Marino.

As far as I know, India is democratic for the past 5,000 years.
There was NEVER a revolution in India, like say, Europe.
The British 'discovered' India and then things started to precipitate.  :/

Primadonna

On what ground you think he can get citizenship in the Netherlands?

It would be extremely difficult to get citizenship in Australia. The visa process is very difficult and then you only get residency, then after a number of years you can apply for citizenship. This applies to any applicants, not just muslims.

I think the other countries mentioned above would not have an open door policy for immigrants to get citizenship.

syedkamran84

I don't wanna go to Australia in the first place because are very racist there. Every now and then i see NEWS about a group of Australians beating up a Indian guy in Australian.
So Australia sucks for Indians for sure.

beppi

If you reject all countries that had any racist incidences ever, you will be left only with living on the moon.
Australia, USA, and India are among the most racially tolerant places in the world. If you want to be only among Muslims, the Middle East is your place. However, If you can only accept a perfect society, you'll be disappointed in all of these!

Maybe i can choose the country which has least of it.

Well first off, there are many muslims in India. There are also regions with more muslims then others. Kashmir as example but you probably know more places.
The definition of being a muslim or christian or any other religion is not the way you shave, wear a beard or how you dress. Neither is it due to what religion your parents have. Religion is about your own beliefs, your faith and what is in your heart. You can live more or less anywhere and be a muslim.
UAE is difficult as well as some other Arab states to get citizenship but as earlier stated, Malaysia, Indonesia or how about Brunei which has a good economy and is muslim.
There is only one full muslim country in Europe, and that is Albania, look on their fourm. Then there is Bosnia with a mix of muslim, catholic and ortodox population.
You have several countries in north africa which are muslim to look into.

Go look on the different country forums.

Good luck.
Magnus

Thanks magnus.

Moh'd Sam

I think anyone can live freely anywhere.

I did not realise that this was only about countries where one can obtain instant citizenship.  I shall amend my answer.

I know of no place in the universe that is fully Muslim, has no racism, and offers instant citizenship.

Nope you got it wrong now and also the other guy who commented above your this comment.

Basically i am looking for Muslim country where i can get citizenship. That's it.

The reason i want to go to Muslim country is only so that if i practice my religion keep beard or dress islamically no one would call me a terrorrist or something like that. If middle east countries provided citizenship then they would have my first option.

Hope it is clear now. thanks.

The middle east sound like a better bed than South East Asia.
In Malaysia and Indonesia, people dress pretty much as you would see on a high street in the UK but with more use of shorts and the ladies generally wear more conservative clothing. Round necked T shits with slightly longer sleeves, that sort of thing.
Ladies tend to dress as they feel is right and no one much bothers them as long as they don't go OTT (Either way).
Some men wear Islamic style dress but not so many and are commonly viewed with suspicion by locals; the same applies to ladies who wear full coverings; I've heard, "Terrorist's wife" used many times and, sadly, it's sometimes true as I once found out first hand.

As a note, dressing for Islam requires a given level of modesty in men and in women.
That level is commonly determined by local social factors and how extreme the person is.
In fact, my understanding of the holy Qurán suggests a man should cover up from below the knees to the chest but I don't believe our holy book offers fashion advice or demands we wear the style of dress we commonly see middle eastern man wearing.
In my humble opinion, being a good Muslim doesn't require special dress, just trying to follow a good path in life life and, most importantly, being a good person.

There goes religious topics; they all do.

As you said in an earlier answer, I know of no Muslim country where there is no bigotry but I have to amend by adding there are no countries free from bigotry and silly ideals about how their skin colour, race, religion, political ideal or whatever is the best and everyone else is wrong.
That's where all more extreme views go wrong, people are people first and whatever else, second.
Many people hate "Muslims" as if they're a group of robots, all thinking exactly the same.
Others hate Jews, Christians, Blacks, whites, Chinese or whoever else but have the same silly idea about all of their target group being of one mind.
I've met way too many people from way too many hated groups to believe that to be true.

Nope, people are people, usually just trying to live a reasonable life, get married, look after families and so on.
We can all be friends as long as we don't allow silly extremists to taint our view of other people.

Is there a place for Indian Muslims to live freely?
=====================================

There is hardly a place where anybody can live freely at all ...  :sosad:

Hi SyedKamran you dont need any country to stay there but what i feel you need a doctor...to check up,because other countries will judge you(muslim countries) as per shariyat law where as in India you are judged by Indian Law and which is a safety for all muslims in India....What about others those who are in India...Basically you are not muslims because in Islam there is something about to love your motherland and safeguard it and you want to run away,so i dont think you are a muslim might be you are carrying a desease in the name of religion....because whoever wants to practices any religion in India,... is his / her fundamental rights,,,,well choices are yours and if you got any place then be happy there but always remember one thing....God has created Human Being and Human Being has created religion,so no religion is greater than a Human Being...Try to be a Human Being otherwise every where you will find the same problem because this is within yourself...and it has nothing to do with the country / religion or people...thats the reason in the begining itself i told you ,,,you need a doctor rather than a another country....
In India muslim is uttered as Musalman that means Mus saley Iman...find out where you stands
Finally try to learn Indian constitution...might be you will get some idea to know your rights///
