I gave the OP a    because I thought that was a very easy/silly question he was posting, but I guess not... It is YOU who deserves it:   

You need to figure out what it means to have a sister, plus you shouldn't assume any family members not mentioned in the riddle.

just 5 members of the family coz each of the sons has the same sister.
the lady + 3 sons + 1 sister.= 5

Sorry, according to the way YOU phrased the riddle, the correct answer is 5.

No father was mentioned, so you can't just include him now.  Maybe he is dead, maybe divorced, maybe alive, it is irrelevant.

You also never said if the sons were all from the same father so the question was impossible to anwser ;-)
