Post new topic

Hi everybody,

Can anyone help me with some info about moving my households from Germany to Stavanger,Norway?
My question is if I have to pay importation taxes on all my belongings?
My moving reason is a permanent working contract.

Thanks a lot,

Radu

You shouldn't have to unless you are bringing a bunch of new appliances. They will want to know about your tv though. Are you coming by vehicle or having it shipped? My fiancé drove household goods in last year and had no problems. I shipped household items by boat from Iceland and had to fill out a customs form that had questions about alcohol, tvs, new electronics (I think..), and firearms.

That's as ECS says, you get a toll exemption for what you bring as long as you have owned the goods for more than a certain period. Alcohol gets taxed though and some items are subject to declaration, the TV as you will have to pay a yearly tax and firearms. Landline telephone equipments cannot be imported but this matters less and less now.
