use Tahweel al rajhi or enjaz. creating account and making the first remitance will be a long process but once done you can send money to the same recipient very easily and quickly. avoid going in the evening on first few days of the month as the lines are long. u can create account in rajhi bank and use the online tahweel service too

Dr. Bela,

Moneygram and Western union or direct bank transfer are the three most popular means of sending money to Pakistan. Then comes the question of " How long it takes" and "What rate do they offer". Answer to the first question is easy, you would find out the first time how long it took and you should imagine that as a norm. The answer to the second issue "rate" is very tricky, many offer an atractive rate but at the end there are huge commissions and fees at the end, so the best bet is to ask straight question that you would be sending say SR 5000, , how many Pak. Rupies will the recipient get in Pakistan?

There used to be be a more profitable but officially illegal  means of transferring money from KSA in the recent past called HUNDI. you would pay say SR 5000 to a company in your city in KSA and with in a few hours their rep would deliver it equivalent is Pak. Rupees in your home town. Since many terrorist. drugs, money laundering etc type people were using this channel, there has been huge crack downs on these companies in the recent past and I will suggest you keep away from them.

The best rate one will get is that you physically take Saudi Riyals and USDs if you or your family members are frequent travelers to Pakistan, you are allowed to bring in up US 10,000 in a single trip legally.

You will also get a good rate if you buy 100 gm or 10 Tola Gold  bars from KSA and bring them over persanally to Pakistan. This is also legal with in some limits which I could find out for you in you in case you are interested.

In case you ever set up an industry or buy property ( ie land, house and plots, cars is not a problem), you will be expected to explain the sourse of your income and the Income Tax and Wealth Tax authorities will only accept money remmited through banks and official channels.

Keep sending foreign exchange to Pakistan, our nation needs it badly!!

Dear thanks for providing useful information.
Someone told me that we can take 60,000 SAR or equal amount in US dollars with us legally on a trip to Pakistan. if you are traveling by air and you have more than 60,000 SAR, you must declare it to the Custom Authorities. Here is the link for ready reference:

please find the info at the bottom of the page.

You mentioned about gold. Please guide in this regard. How much gold can one  take with him from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan? Please guide.

If you’ve tried to send money to Pakistan you may have noticed that there are limited options.
For many countries PayPal is a convenient option. But in Pakistan, PayPal doesn’t have an efficient way for people to receive funds. WorldRemit has an option to send small amounts of money to load the recipient’s mobile phone account in Pakistan. You can check the blog.timedoctor.com/2015/01/27/best-options-send-money-pakistan  and the fees involved when sending money.
