How can I start ? I live in Australia and she lives in Vietnam.
I don't have much money to hire a lawyer.
I asked her to find a lawyer, she said need 5,000 USD for hire a lawyer in Vietnam but that's too much, I don't have.

hello harry110,

Welcome to Expat-Blog..:)

I would advise you to have a look at the page Lawyers in Australia so that you can appoint a lawyer to counsel you about this issue.

I would also suggest you to start a new discussion in the Vietnam forum so that members can help you.

Thank you
Yuveshen

If you live in Australia, you can apply for a Divorce in Australia, and get it after 1 year full separation.
I married in UK, and got divorced in Australia, with no contact from ex, as it was over one year separated.  Legal in both countries.

But...  That divorce may not be recognised in Vietnam ( I don't know).  However, if you never go back to Vietnam, then that will not be a concern to you, but if you do, and you are remarried, then technically you will have committed bigamy in Vietnam, but ONLY in Vietnam, as the divorce would be legal elsewhere, with your Australian Divorce Certificate.
