Lightning Protection for Biogas Plant

Hi All,

For highly explosive biogas (methane) and generally classified zone 2 for the steel tank. I wish to know whether the lightning protection is a must to installed for biogas plant in Malaysia? Anyone has an idea for it?
Besides, is there any regulation stated for lightning protection for biogas plant in Malaysia?
Please share your experience of lightning protection for biogas plant at here.

I am not an expert in this topic but the spectacular thunderstorms I have seen and the frequency of them would lead me to believe that this is a requirement.

Does it matter if it's a requirment?

It would be blind stupidity not to ensure the plant is fully protected.

Yes, it seems like very logically, however, i seldom see biogas plant install any lightning protection equipment.
Perhaps, they just install earthing only.

When i google search on the internet, i hardly find lightning protection related with biogas plant in Malaysia.
I guess this is not so common in Malaysia, as i passby chicken farm with biogas tank, they didn't install it.
Perhaps, this is what myfundas and me thinking of.
Anyway, i get your point that there is no other more important than safety of human life.

Do you have any lightning information or lightning experience on biogas plant to share with me?
