re. tax rate for TCNs

Post new topic

mbbmalta

some Serbian nationals complained that they are being taxed at a single rate despite the fact that they are married and provided Marriage Certificate to prove it, on the pretext that (in some cases) the spouse resides abroad.
this does not seem right. any info?

I would guess that if your partner is not resident in Malta ( and not a EU citizen ) then you would be classed as a single person for tax purposes.

Best is to phone the tax office and ask, they are very helpful.
