where is the best area in Kolkata for a visitor to stay?

We are planning to come to Kolkata in late Spring time..
where is the best area in Kolkata for a visitor to stay..
is there budget long stay places and extended stay guest houses..?
any information or links would be appreciated..

Hello Allaround,

Well, yes hard question as there are mainly members who wish to relocate to Kolkata on the forum but have a look at the Accommodation in Kolkata. If it is for a visit maybe you will want to stay not far from your hotel or good infrastructure(transport).

you come to south聽 kokatta聽 ask them next聽 to stop of聽 kaalighat聽 .聽 and come to rash behari avenue . it is a safe place mostly s indean tamils krlites etc the聽 lodges are cheaperin this area metro rail connectivity to esplanade area聽聽any other doubt pl聽
