Anyone has a valid information about which parts of the citty or/and which roads will be closed/blocked/forbiden during those 2-3 days of hell?
In particulare, I would like to know would it be possible sathurday and sunday to go by car from Janzour area to Regata....afternoon hours...and could it just be a bit slower trip or it is actualy a risk? Any oficial info?
Thanks all!

I would imagine Janzour to Regatta will be fine, in fact the usual police 'check points' that appear over the weekends are more likely to be redeployed to other areas. I'd have thought that everything from the Corinthia Eastwards and South Eastwards will be tricky. Plus possibly the highway and airport road. An expat bimbling around from Janzour to Saraj shouldn't be a concern in the big scheme of things. I am however happy to be proved wrong!

I would imagine Janzour to Regatta will be fine, that is right .

They're not using the main airport apparently, it'll be the other one.

the roads are ok, on my way to work everything was ok.

I drove past Alfateh-Tower, the only bad thing is that no public transportation allowed to go to dat-alemad area, taxis and minibuses are stopped and redirected at the roundabout before Corinthia hotel, and the other stop is at the other side before JW-Marriot.

don't know what will happen tomorrow.

thanks all for posts....for me the worry is over: we did the b-day party for my little angel (4th) so now as soon as I'm concerned-probblem is not so big any more! But I confirm too....all the roads clear...no traffic...so I have to agree with Samak...(sorry if I don't remember well the nick-name): I wish too we have summit once a week! lol!!!!
